WHAT IS DIRECT DYE-SUB? Digital dye-sublimation is the act of ink or dye morphing in to a gaseous state to adhere to fabric. In the case of Source One Digital’s new Jeti 3324 AquaJet, that process happens right before your eyes without the traditional need for transfer paper or off-line curing equipment.
The AquaJet prints directly to almost any polyester-based knitted or woven fabric. The fabric then passes through an in-line infrared drying system (we call it the “Magic Box”) to achieve vibrant colors that are brilliant, fade and wash resistant, and literally burst to life from the fabric.
ECO-FRIENDLY The Jeti 3324 AquaJet direct dye-sub printer is a also an eco-friendly printing solution. It uses non-toxic, VOC-free, water-based ink and prints directly to fabric – which can even be made from recycled polyester. Lighter weight polyester banner and flag fabrics require fewer raw materials for their manufacture, reducing the impact of associated transportation, which makes the whole process very eco-friendly.
DYE-SUB APPLICATIONS Grand Format direct to fabric dye sub is producing everything from trade show displays to casino gaming table tops to elegant banners and corporate flags. Indoors and outdoors, the applications are limited only by your imagination. Upscale department stores, exhibit companies, sports stadiums, and schools are among those beginning to realize the unique benefits of fabric versus vinyl, paper, or canvas signage.
While vinyl banners will always have their place, fabric dye-sub produces banners that you can wash repeatedly over several years and they still look good. The soft look and feel of lightweight fabric banners, along with their flowing movement and vibrant colors catches the eyes of people passing by.

WHY DIRECT DYE-SUB? 1. With direct dye-sub printing, you can get more brilliant and sharper images than you sometimes do through traditional dye-sub printing using the paper transfer process.
2. Eliminate the timely setup process. The speed of the AquaJet (up to 650 sq ft/hour) combined with the in-line sublimation process means more output at a more competitive price. Because you can monitor the image output as it happens, you don’t have to sacrifice quality.
